Leopard Grouper. To 100 cm (39.4 in) TL ( Allen and Robertson 1994). Islas Coronados ( Walker et al. 2020) to Bahía Banderas, Jalisco, Mexico ( Thomson et al. 1979), including Gulf of California (Heemstra in Fischer et al. 1995), and Isla Guadalupe, central Baja California (Personal communication: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Fish Collection, Los Angeles, California). Depth: surface (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California), 1–100 m (4–328 ft) (min.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California; max.: Aburto-Oropeza et al. 2011).
