* Coryphoblennius galerita (Linnaeus, 1758)—Montagu's blenny
* Lipophrys pholis (Linnaeus, 1758)—Shanny
* Lipophrys trigloides (Valenciennes, 1836)
Recorded from Madeira by Zander in Whitehead et al. ( 1986: 1105) under the actual name, and by Bath in Quéro et al. ( 1990: 911-912) under the name Paralipophrys trigloides . Taxonomic decision of Almada et al. ( 2005).
* Ophioblennius atlanticus (Valenciennes, 1836)—Redlip blenny
* Parablennius incognitus (Bath, 1968)
Not mentioned from Madeira by Zander in Whitehead et al., 1986: 1107) but recorded from Madeira by Bath in Quéro et al. ( 1990: 909) on the basis of a letter by G.E. Maul ( 1974).
* Parablennius parvicornis (Valenciennes, 1836)—Rock-pool blenny
Almada et al. ( 2001: 412) tentatively synonymized
Parablennius parvicornis with P. sanguinolentus (Pallas, 1814) . Almada et al. ( 2005), however, demonstrated that the two are different species due to significant genetic distance. We follow the usage of the latter paper and other authors (including Bath, 1996: 91) and consider P. parvicornis a valid species.
* Parablennius ruber (Valenciennes, 1836)—Portuguese blenny
