A widely distributed taxon.

(2) Artemia persimilis Piccinelli & Prosdocimi, 1968 . Amarga lagoon (50° 29' S; 72° 45' W) ( Gajardo et al. 1998, 1999; De los Ríos-Escalante 2011); De los Cisnes lagoon (53° 14' S; 70° 00' W) ( De los Ríos 2005). The species is distributed in southern Chile.
