Type species: Epicrionops bicolor Boulenger, 1883 a by original monotypy.

Diagnosis: The only rhinatrematids with long tails (more than 10 postcloacal annuli). Distribution: Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Venezuela.

Content: eight species: ( bicolor , colombianus, lativittatus , marmoratus , niger , parkeri , peruvianus , petersi ).
