The unique synaphobranchid larvae collected during the spring belongs to the Synaphobranchus View in CoL View at ENA ZBK group, which have a simple gut without pigment (Smith, 1989f) (Figure 13). It was collected over the isobath of 1,000 m near the south region of Bahia State (Figure14). According to Smith (1989f), the larvae of this family occur at greater depths than are other leptocephali. Study Material: DZUFRJ 2845; one specimen; total myomeres 132; 34.4 mm SL.
