Genus Cephennomicrus Reitter View in CoL

Cephennomicrus Reitter, 1907: 297 View in CoL . Type species: Cephennomicrus perpunctillum Reitter, 1907 View in CoL (monotypy).

Neseuthia Scott, 1922: 201 View in CoL . Type species: Neseuthia typica Scott, 1922 View in CoL (des. orig.). Placed as junior synonym of Cephennomi- crus by Jałoszyński (2008).

Cephennomicrus View in CoL is a large genus, currently comprising 102 nominal species, including one extinct. They are distributed in Africa ( DR Congo, Madagascar, South Africa, Tanzania); Asia ( China (Fujian, Yunnan), Christmas Is., Indonesia (Sumatra), Japan (Honshű, Iriomote Is., Ishigaki Is., Okinawa Is., Tokunoshima Is., Tsushima Is., Yona- guni Is.), Malaysia (Pahang, Pahang / Selangor, Sarawak), Nepal, Philippines (Leyte, Luzon, Palawan), Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand), Australia-Pacific ( Australia, Fiji, Lord Howe Is., New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Samoa); Indian Ocean (Grand Comore Is., Mauritius, Reunion Is., Seychelles); extinct species were reported from the Eo- cene of Ukraine.

Cephennomicrus can be distinguished from all other Cephenniini by the antennae with a symmetrical dimerous or trimerous club; the pronotum with two pairs of antebasal pits (in some species one pair reduced or additionally a transverse groove occurs); the prothorax lacking glandular openings and internal 'cavities'; the prosternal process in ventral view subtriangular, also subtriangular in cross section, in lateral view only slightly bent caudad, with its apex directed posteroventrad, not extending ventrally beyond ventral margins of procoxae; and the mesoventral intercoxal process broad and nearly flat.
