Vaz-de-Mello 2014 {red with black marginsı partially handwritten} [SNSD].
Remarks. Luederwaldt (1929) placed this species in Cephagonus in a key to the species of the subgenus. Examination of lectotype suggests this species should be placed in the subgenus selenocopris sensu novoı more specifically in the D. (s.) agenor species group. Morphological evidence for this new combination is as follows: anterior clypeal margin weakly emarginatedı producing short clypeal teeth; cephalic process produced in a transverse carina with a central horn on it; genae border expanded posteriorly to clypeo-genal suture ( Figure 3 View Figure 3 (a)). These three characteristics are diagnostic for the D. (s.) agenor species groupı which is currently under taxonomic revision.
