Genus Niphates Duchassaing & Michelotti, 1864 View in CoL

Definition. Niphatidae with a paratangential ectosomal reticulation of fibers or tracts, obscured by the conulose surface produced by ends of primary longitudinal fibers ( Desqueyroux-Faúndez & Valentine 2002).

Type species. Niphates erecta Duchassaing & Michelotti, 1864 (by subsequent designation; Wiedenmayer 1977).
