Type species Pseudococcus aceris Signoret.

The genus Phenacoccus is one of the biggest genera in the family Pseudococcidae . It includes more then 180 species, distributed in all geographic regions ( Ben-Dov, 1994). The most recent information about Palaearctic species of the genus can be found in the reviews of Danzig (2003, 2006), including descriptions, figures, keys, etc.
