Genus Leucandra Haeckel View in CoL
Type species— Sycandra (Sycodorus) hystrix Haeckel, 1872 (by subsequent designation; Dendy & Row 1913).
Diagnosis — Grantiidae with sylleibid or leuconoid organization. Longitudinal large diactines, if present, are not restricted to the cortex, but lie obliquely across the external part of the sponge wall and protrude from the surface of the sponge ( Borojevic et al. 2002b).
