Nilacantha: Simon, 1901 (nomen nudum).
Nilakantha Peckham & Peckham, 1901 (May, 7th, against Bryant, 1950): 8 (type species by monotypy: Nilakantha cockerelli Peckham & Peckham, 1901 ); considered a junior synonym of Thiodina by Bryant, 1950: 202.
Diagnosis. Among the amycoids with bulbous sensory setae, Nilakantha can be distinguished by the prolateral apophysis on the male palpal tibia. From Colonus , it also differs in smaller size and markings (see comments under Diagnosis of Colonus ); from the other genera it differs in the high carapace.
