Menippus Clark, 1864: 257 (type species: Menippus cynicus Clark, 1864 ).

Issikia Chûjô, 1961: 87 (type species: Galeruca (Issikia) issikii Chûjô, 1961 ). New Synonym

Notes. Reid and Nally (2008) treated Menippus in detail. The degree of closure of the procoxal cavity and the marginal elytral ridges—the characters which are used to separate Menippus from Issikia —are variable between species of Menippus . Because of great similarity of male and female genitalic morphology between Issikia and Menippus , the genus Issikia has been reduced to a junior synonym of Menippus .
