• Smallest extant anteaters with silvery gray to golden brown to reddish bodies and limbs and darker dorsal, sternal, or ventral streaks and lighter extremities in some species; myrmecophagous; and arboreal.
• 20-40 cm. • Nearctic (marginally) and Neotropical Regions. Rainforest to mangrove forests. View Figure
