Genus Uthina Simon, 1893 View in CoL View at ENA
Uthina Simon 1893: 476 View in CoL . Type species Uthina luzonica Simon, 1893 View in CoL , by original designation.
Diagnosis. This genus can be distinguished from all known pholcid genera by the combination of a cylindrical opisthosoma, the presence of six eyes, two pairs of apophyses (proximo-lateral and disto-frontal) on the male chelicerae ( Figs 48 View FIGURES 48 – 52 , 55 View FIGURES 53 – 56 ), a ‘knee’ and the absence of dorsal spines on the procursus ( Figs 44–45 View FIGURES 44 – 47 , 53–54 View FIGURES 53 – 56 ), a curved uncus ( Figs 44 View FIGURES 44 – 47 , 53 View FIGURES 53 – 56 ) and a usually slender bulbal appendix ( Figs 45 View FIGURES 44 – 47 , 54 View FIGURES 53 – 56 ), as well as by the presence of a ‘knob’ on the barely sclerotized epigyne ( Huber 2011a).

FIGURES 48 – 52. Uthina khaosokensis spec. nov., holotype male. 48 Chelicerae, frontal view; 49 Distal part of procursus, dorsal view (arrow points at a large curved sclerite); 50 – 52 Habitus (50 dorsal view, 51 ventral view, 52 lateral view). da = distal apophysis, pa = proximo-lateral apophysis.
FIGURES 53 – 56. Uthina khaosokensis spec. nov., holotype male. 53 – 54 Pedipalp (53 prolateral view, arrow points at a large curved sclerite on procursus; 54 retrolateral view); 55 – 56 Chelicerae (55 frontal view, 56 lateral view). a = appendix, b = bulb, da = distal apophysis, e = embolus, pa = proximo-lateral apophysis, pr = procursus, u = uncus.
FIGURES 44 – 47. Uthina khaosokensis spec. nov., holotype male. 44 – 45 Pedipalp (44 prolateral view, arrow points at a large curved sclerite on procursus; 45 retrolateral view); 46 – 47 Distal part of procursus (46 prolateral view, arrow points at a large curved sclerite; 47 retrolateral view). a = appendix, b = bulb, e = embolus, pr = procursus, u = uncus.
