Centaurea glastifolia Linnaeus View in CoL , Species Plantarum 2: 915. 1753.

"Habitat in Oriente, Sibiria." RCN: 6612.

Lectotype (Wagenitz in Jarvis & Turland in Taxon 47: 357. 1998): Herb. Clifford: 421, Centaurea 8, sheet A (BM-000647258) .

Current name: Chartolepisglastifolia (L.) Cass. ( Asteraceae View in CoL ).

Note: Wagenitz (in Davis, Fl. Turkey 5: 523. 1975; in Rechinger, Fl. Iranica 139b: 353. 1980) and Wijnands (Bot. Commelins: 71. 1983) indicated Clifford material as the type but did not distinguish between the three sheets associated with Herb. Clifford: 421, Centaurea 8 ( BM). The material is not part of a single gathering so Art. 9.15 does not apply, but Wagenitz subsequently designated one of the three as lectotype.
