Family Neanuridae

Friesea major Hamra Kroua, Jordana & Deharveng, 2009 , is frequent in moss on soil and in Pistacia lentisco litter. According with the original description this species is characterized by the presence of a 2 chaeta on Abd V, sometimes asymmetrically, rarely absent and the presence of a single tenacular tooth. We have studied a population of 38 specimens and observed the following variations: one specimen with 2 + 2 and three specimens with 1 + 2 tenacular teeth; only three specimens with the a 2 chaeta asymmetrically present on Abd V. Therefore, we agree with the authors (Hamra Kroua et al, 2009) that the presence of a single tenacular tooth is the best diagnostic character of F. major .

Distribution: Described originally from Edough massif (Northeastern Algeria), second record of the species.

Cephalachorutes sp., an undescribed species close to Cephalachorutes minimus ( Massoud, 1963), was found in moss on soil.

Pseudachorudina meridionalis ( Bonet, 1929) , was found in moss on soil and in Pistacia lentisco litter. Distribution: Mediterranean, already recorded from Algeria ( Delamare, 1954).

Pseudachorutes sp., was found in Pistacia lentisco litter.

Bilobella aurantiaca Caroli, 1912 , was found in moss on soil.

Distribution: This is the most oriental record of this species widespread in western Mediterranean regions, already recorded from Algeria ( Handschin, 1926, Cassagnau, 1963).

Endonura sp., an undescribed species, was found in moss on soil.
