Diagnosis.
Length 1.69–2.20 (1.84) mm, width 1.44–1.90 (1.56) mm, depth 0.84–1.11 (0.91) mm (
n
= 11). This group differs from the other speciesgroups by the following combination of characters: body round; dorsal surface of mandible with latitudinal keel at middle; apical margin of abdominal tergite VII widely rounded; prosternum feebly convex along midline; metathoracic discrimen absent; metanepisternum and abdominal sternites densely punctate; inter-mesocoxal distance separated by 1.23–1.55 (
n
= 3) times width of inter-procoxal distance; inter-metacoxal distance separated by 2.05–2.22 (
n
= 3) times width of inter-procoxal distance; abdominal sternite III with or without subcoxal lines; male pro- and mesotarsal segments I–III weakly dilated; tegmen short and wide; apicolateral corners of tegmen with tuft of setae in ventral view; apices of gonocoxites square.

Distribution.
Central and South America.
Comments.
Three species are recognized in the present study. One species,
C. brevicollis
, is found only from Central America. Other congeners are distributed in South America.
