Syn. n.
Described originally from
Bangkok
,
Thailand
on grass, this species is recorded from
Taiwan
and
Japan
by
Okajima (1995a)
. In the present study the
holotype
and the only female
paratype
of
Bamboosiella brevibristla
from
Zhejiang Province
in
China
were studied. The original description of that species indicated that the short and expanded pronotal midlateral setae were much shorter than the anteroangulars, and this was considered as a special character differing from other Chinese
Bamboosiella
species. However, the only remaining anteroangular seta is clearly as long as the only midlateral seta on the
holotype
, although both
types
are poorly prepared (
Figs 65–66
). The other characters such as body colour distribution (
Figs 65–66
) and postocular setae recorded for
brevibristla
do not differ from
exastis
identified based on the original description and the redescription by
Okajima (2006)
.
