Diagnosis
As for the new tribe.
Etymology
The new genus is named after the state and the river from which it is here described, namely
Paraná
, and ‘
dopsis
’, referring to the stem of
Cypridopsis
.
Differential diagnosis
Paranadopsis
gen. nov.
can be distinguished from all other cypridopsine genera by the combination of the valve and limb morphology, including the strong reduction of size and chaetotaxy of segments in various limbs, especially in the A1 (see above, diagnosis of new tribe) (see
Table 3
).
