Mimosa
aff.
rondoniana
Hoehne
A single collection (
R. de Michel & S. Beck
1243
, LPB) from
Beni
provides the first record for ser.
Rondonianae
of sect.
Habbasia
in
Bolivia
. Although in many respects this material is a good match for
M. rondoniana
(the only species in this series), unlike
M. rondoniana
, the
Beni
material is armed with scattered aculei on the shoots and leaf rachis. While it is possible that this represents and undescribed species, the
Michel & Beck
collection has few flowers, additional material of this interesting
Mimosa
is needed to determine its identity with greater certainty.
