Record as parasite on cnidarians: It was found to infect varieties of corals e.g., Acropora palmata (Lamarck, 1816) , A. cervicornis (Lamarck, 1816) , Diploriala byrinthiformis (Linnaeus, 1758), D. strigosa (Dana, 1846) , Colpophyllia natans (Houttuyn, 1772) , Orbicella faveolata (Ellis & Solander, 1786) , O. annularis (Ellis & Solander, 1786) , Montastraea franksi (Gregory, 1895) , Agaricia tenuifolia Dana, 1846 , and Porites porites (Pallas, 1766) in the Caribbean Sea area and Atlantic Ocean ( Cróquer et al . 2006a , b; Page et al . 2015 , Verde et al . 2016 ). Remarks : This ciliate infection causing diseaces Caribbean Ciliate Infections (CCI) on coral hosts ( Rodríguez et al . 2009 ).
