DESCRIPTION Shrub or tree up to 18 m tall growing in Brachystegia woodland and deciduous thicket from 800 m up to 1300 m altitude. NOTE Selected specimens representing the collecting localities on the map. After re-examination in several herbaria of all material called C. gillettianum it became clear that this species has an even more limited geographical distribution than thought before.Ŋe material cited by Liben (1968: 70) as C. gillettianum does not belong to this species but to C. acutifolium Exell. Ŋe real C. gillettianum is only found in a small area around the southern end of Lake Tanganyika, this area is divided in two by the border between Tanzania and Zambia ( Fig. 5 ).
