Honduras to southern Brazil , Bolivia and Peru , Guianas and Trinidad . In Brazil it occurs in the states of Acre , Amazonas, Amapá , Bahia , Ceará , Espírito Santo , Goiás , Minas Gerais , Mato Grosso , Mato Grosso do Sul , Pará, Pernambuco , and Rio de Janeiro , and in the Distrito Federal ( Rodrigues et al . 2002 ; Reis et al . 2007 ). Habitat. The species is considered rare along its distribution, inhabiting primarily areas of tropical forest lowlands, where it has been collected in a number of different habitats such as swampy areas, cloud forests, plantations, and pastures ( López-González 1998 ). Despite of its large distribution in Brazil , in the Cerrado biome it is considered rare and restricted to forest areas ( Marinho-Filho et al . 2002 ). All hand-collected specimens were captured in open area near to pasture lands ( 13°46’ 17.03” S , 46° 37’ 30.44” W ) in São Domingos, GO. The specimen from Alvorada do Norte, GO, was captured in a mist net placed in front of a small weir ( 14° 30’ 21.09” S , 46° 45’ 29.37” W ). Voucher specimens. Three males – CHUNB 1248, 1251 and 1261.
