Identification.
Annual tussock grass,
54–85 cm
height. Leaf-blades lanceolate, glabrous, without glandules, 4.5– 23.0 cm long,
0.1–0.5 cm
wide, ligulate. Characterized by its open panicle,
8–24 cm
long, 2.–
5–8 cm
wide, with hairs on the axil.
Common name.
Capim-peludo; Capim-orvalho.
Remarks.
Species uncommon on the native grassland, occurring mainly on disturbed sites.
Brazilian range.
Midwest, North (AP, PA and RR states), Northeast (except SE state), South, and Southeast regions.
