It is probably not rare but due to its small size and cryptic lifestyle it has previously been recorded only twice from Africa (Congo DR and Kenya; Lessert 1938 – sub Hedypsilus lawrencei Lessert, 1938 – and Huber & Warui 2012 ). It is here newly recorded for West Africa ( Fig. 28 ).
