Diagnosis.— This species differs from other Nesticus by the bifid tip of the tegular apophysis, the presence of a long hookshaped process extending well beyond the cymbium [labeled in Huber (1993) as p6: process of the conductor] and the simple paracymbium. Females differ by the median septum greatly enlarged posteriorly and the oblique septal grooves. Distribution.— According to Gertsch (1984) , the species is introduced into North America . It is known on the East Coast of North America from Québec (this record) to Massachusetts. Remark.— This species was included in Paquin & Dupérré (2003 , figs 1958–1960 ) without comment. That mention was based on the record given here, which is also the northernmost for the species.
