Figs 2, 13, 34–43

Staberius argenteonotatus Simon, 1898b: 16 , female holotype from Mariscal Ramón Castilla   GoogleMaps , Pebas, Peru [03°11’S, 71°51’W], de Mathan leg. (MNHN) (examined).

Thaumasia uncata F.O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1901: 309 , plate 30, figs 6–7, male from Chiriquí Province, Bugaba, Panama [08°29’N, 82°37’W], Champion leg. (MNHN). Sierwald, 1990: 25, figs 17–20, 41. Synonymy established by Carico, 1981: 150.

Thaumasia argenteonotata ; Carico, 1981: 150 (transferred from Staberius ).

Diagnosis. Thaumasia argenteonotata can be distinguished from all the known species of Thaumasia by the bifurcated median apophysis (MA) ( Figs 34, 35) of males and by the enlarged base and dorsally curved ectal branch (EcB) of the retrolateral tibial apophysis (RTA) ( Fig. 37). The females can be distinguished from other species of Thaumasia by the presence of a median septum in the middle field of the epigynum (MF) ( Figs 38, 39).
