( Figs. 4, 5, 26)

Description. Adult ( Fig. 26): Wingspan 12.5–15.5 mm. Head with frons white, vertex dark leaden, with yellow scales along margin, scale tuft behind compound eye dark leaden or yellow. Antenna brown except scape black on dorsal surface. Labial palpus with second segment grayish-white, third segment grayish-white with black scales on ventral surface, about 3/4 length of second. Thorax and tegula with basal half dark-brown, distal half yellow; thorax with a yellow spot at middle. Forewing whitish-yellow, overlaid with numerous conspicuously black spots and patches; covered with dense black scales from fold to dorsum, forming a black blotch at base; large irregularly shaped black patches at base of costal margin, at apex and posteriad of distal half of fold; cilia whitish-yellow mixed with black scales, tinged with leaden on tornus. Hindwing and cilia deep-gray. Legs dirty whitish-yellow, fore leg with tibia and tarsus black on outer side.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 4): Brachia of uncus sclerotized, with a small triangular process at 2/3; basal 2/3 widened rectangularly, with a longitudinal carina; distal 1/3 slender, tapering from 2/3 length to very narrow before pointed apex. Valva broad and short, elongate oval, with numerous commalike processes on ventral half; valvella strong, longer than valva, narrowed slightly beyond middle, rounded apically. Anellus membranous. Phallus coiled medially, weakly sclerotized; cornutus absent.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 5): Posterior apophysis about twice as long as anterior apophysis. Sterigma tubular, 2/3 length of posterior apophysis, posterior half gradually narrowed. Ductus bursae three times as long as anterior apophysis; ductus seminalis arising from about 1/3 length of ductus bursae. Corpus bursae broadly elliptical, slightly shorter than ductus bursae; signa a pair of sclerotized lunate plates.

Distribution. Brunei, China, Malaysia, Thailand.

Diagnosis. This new species is similar to S. incantata Meyrick , but can be separated from it by the brachia of uncus with basal 2/3 expanded rectangularly and with a small triangular process at 2/3, distal 1/3 slender and pointed at apex. In S. incantata Meyrick , the brachia of uncus are broad at base, narrowed to 3/5 where it is slightly curved, and its distal 2/5 is elongately elliptical ( Fig. 42).

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin prefix nigr- = black, and the word marginatus = margin, in reference to the forewing from fold to dorsum being covered with black scales.
