Type locality. Cantareira , São Paulo, Brazil.

Bionomics. Immature stages of this species have been found only in bamboo internodes ( Davis 1944b; Lozovei 1998; Zequi & Lopes 2001; Marcondes & Mafra 2003; Muller et al. 2009). Lane & Cerqueira (1942) found the immature stages of Sa. aurescens associated with those of Sa. (Sbn.) melanonymphe .

Arbovirus infection records. None.

Occurrence in Brazil. Occurrence in other countries. Argentina, Panama and Venezuela ( Wilkerson et al. 2021).
