Description. Integument of the body and appendices, black. Sides of frons divergent downwards and covered with sparse, yellowish pubescence. Vertex with fine and sparse yellowish pubescense, more concentrated around the eyes and in a transverse band at the beginning of the occiput; in the middle of vertex, a distinct longitudinal carina, very narrow and glabrous. Upper ocular lobes with six rows of ommatidia separated by a distance of one row of ommatidia. Antennae reach the elytral apices approximately at the tip of antennomere VIII. Scape cylindrical, robust. Antennomere III with fringe of dense hairs on inner side.

Prothorax slightly wider than long. Pronotum with three longitudinal narrow bands of yellowish pubescence: one on the middle and one on each side; punctures deep and moderately sparse. Sides of the prothorax with longitudinal band of yellowish pubescence.

Elytra with narrow bands of yellowish pubescence; on each one: (1) from the middle to the apex, very narrow and parallel to suture; (2) from the base to almost apex, with two short extensions towards the suture that until the band 1: on the apical third and another before the apex; these extensions surround two elliptical spots with the same color; (3) from anterior third to the apical fifth, which at the posterior end extends briefly toward the side of margin; (4) in the lateral declivity, short line from a little beyond the middle up to the apical fourth; (5) very narrow, close to the epipleura. The elytra are slightly projected around the central-basal ridge. Elytral apices obliquely truncate.

Legs covered by whitish pubescence. Profemora robust, fusiform. Metatarsomere V as long as I–III combined.

Measurements, in mm. Total length, 10.0; prothorax length, 2.0; prothorax width, 2.1; elytron length, 7.0; humeral width, 2.9.

Etymology. The specific name refers to the type-locality.

Type-material. Holotype male, BRASIL, Amazonas: Benjamin Constant (Rio Javari, alto Amazonas), IV.1963, Dirings (MZSP).

Discussion. Rosalba amazonica can be distinguished by the presence of a carina on vertex, by a gibbosity on sides of prothorax and color pattern of the elytra.
