Ptygura tridorsicornis Summerfield-Wright View in CoL

A small Ptygura inhabiting an inconspicuous, ill-defined gelatinous case. Lives solitary or in small groups of up to three specimens together, rarely in colonies of up to 30 specimens, or in mixed colonies with P.ctenoida Koste & Tobias. Corona slightly elliptic, about 1.5 times as wide as body, mouth a wide and deep V. Dorsal and lateral antennae simple, no papillae. Lateral antennae situated halfway along body, below trophi. Trophi small. Diagnostic dorsal folds in tegument visible when feeding. Foot long, wrinkled, no pedal disk or stalk. To date, the species had not been recorded since its description from Europe ( UK) .
