Distribution ( Fig. 27 ): BRAZIL. Pernambuco (Fernando de Noronha) and Ceará (Fortaleza). WWF: Ecoregions: NT0106 and NT0123, respectively, Caatinga Enclaves moist forests and Fernando de Noronha-Atol das Rocas moist forests.

In the shape file of the Global Ecoregions adopted by the WWF, Fortaleza is not under Ecoregion NT0106; however, in spite of not being on WWF’s map, the physiognomy of the collection locality is moist forest. (A. B. Kury, pers. comm. 2005).

Material examined: m lectotype (here designated) ( SMF RII 1323 /11), m and f paralectotypes ( SMF RII 1323 /11) from BRAZIL, Ceará, Fortaleza ; 5m and 6f ( MNRJ05707 ) from Pernambuco. Ilha de Fernando de Noronha , vii.1973, Roppa O .

Diagnosis: Dorsal surface of the body densely covered by dark granules. Free tergite II with armature; median armature of free tergite II mostly absent, present in some specimens, but much reduced in size; free tergite III with posterior border only slightly convex and with an apophysis on each lateral corner. Calcaneus I less than half the metatarsus length. Medial apophysis in the main dorsal row of tubercles of femur IV present.
