Lectotype (Morton in Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 60: 67. 1967): [icon] "Trichomanes folio triangulo dentato" in Petiver, Pteri-graphia Amer.: 76, t. 1, f. 10. 1712.

Current name: Polystichum triangulum (L.) Fée ( Dryopteridaceae ).

Note: Morton treated the cited Petiver illustration as the type though noting that it had been redrawn from a Plumier plate, via which Morton interpreted it. However, the Plumier plate was not cited in the protologue of this name.
