Distribution and habitat. The publications by Dlabola (1958, 1961, 1964, 198) and Nast (1972) and the museum specimens indicates the existence of this species from 400 m to 2545 m, in sunny habitats on Poaceae in mountains, steppes and Hyrcanian type forests habitats. Neophilaenus campestris is known as a pontomediterranean faunal element and is recorded from Europe, Northern Africa, Western Asia and Iran (North, fig. 26). The species is considered as a potential vector for the bacterium X. fastidiosa , which infests olive trees (Anonymous 2013).
