Material examined.

Two females (point mounted), COSTA RICA, Puntarenas, Zona protectora Las tablas, 1 km NE de Sitio Portones Camino a Tablas, 1530 m, collected 30. VIII– 5.IX.1995, M. Chinchilla, Malaise, UWIM. One female (point mounted), COSTA RICA, Puntarenas, San Vito, Est. Biol. Las Alturas, 1500 m, collected II.1992, P. Hanson leg., UWIM.

Comments.

Meteorus farallonensis was described from Colombia from the departments of Caqueta, Meta, and Valle del Cauca at elevations below 1000 m ( Aguirre et al. 2011). This new record from Puntarenas, Costa Rica, at 1500 m represents the highest known altitudinal distribution for this species.
