Family Macrothricidae Norman & Brady, 1867 View in CoL

43. Grimaldina brazzai Richard, 1892 . Recorded by Álvarez (2010) and Fuentes-Reinés et al. (2012, fig 12). Pantropical taxon ( Smirnov 1992), probably it is represented by a series of taxa (H.J. Dumont, personal communication). In Colombia, it occurs in the Caribbean region.

44. Guernella raphaelis Richard, 1892 . Recorded by Fuentes-Reinés & Elmoor-Loureiro (2011, figs 1-6) and Fuentes-Reinés et al. (2012, fig 8). Pantropical taxon ( Smirnov 1992) needs to be revised ( Frey 1988). In Colombia, it occurs in the Caribbean region.

45. Macrothix hirsuticornis N orman and Brady, 1867 s.lat. Recorded by Stingelin (1913). Only Palearctic populations could be regarded as M. hirsuticornis s.str. ( Smirnov 1992). Kotov (2007) concluded that all populations from southern South America belong to M. oviformis Ekman, 1900 . Nevertheless, in northern South America this species should be revised because its identity with M. oviformis is not obvious. In Colombia, it occurs in the Andean region.

Macrothrix laticornis (Jurine, 1820) . Recorded by Pearse (1916). Dubious records, the author most probably meant M. spinosa .

Macrothrix triserialis Brady, 1886 View in CoL . Recorded by Stingelin (1913, figs 18-19) and Brehm (1956). M. triserialis View in CoL is distributed in the Old World tropics and subtropics (Dumont et al. 2002; Kotov et al. 2004). Populations from South America belong to M. elegans View in CoL , see above.

Macrothrix triserialis View in CoL var. chevreuxi Richard in Stingelin (1913). The name is applied improperly: in reality M. chevreuxi View in CoL is a name for African triserialis View in CoL -like populations. Probaby, Stingelin (1913) dealt with M. elegans View in CoL .

49. Onchobunops tuberculatus View in CoL Fryer & Paggi, 1972. Recorded by Álvarez (2010) and Fuentes-Reinés et al. (2012, fig 11). Neotropical species ( Kotov et al. 2013a). In Colombia, it occurs in the Caribbean region.

50. Streblocerus serricaudatus (Fischer, 1849) View in CoL . Recorded by Stingelin (1913). Holarctic species ( Smirnov 1992), nevertheless it has been reported from Australia and the Neotropics ( Paggi 1976; Smirnov & Timms 1983; Kotov et al. 2013a). Populations from non-Eurasian localities should be revised. In Colombia, it occurs in the Andean region.
