Identification. Small, body subcylindrical. A large central scale on the dorsal surface of the head. Predorsal series with 13 or 14 scales. Lateral line with 30–32 scales. A tubular gonopodium in the males formed by modified rays of the anal fin. Anal fin with 13 or 14 rays. Light gray background color with dash–shaped spots arranged in longitudinal lines, with four or five lines on the cau- dal peduncle.
