The holotype of Ilep polyphylla Befth. at K [ K000588643 ] origifates from Beftham’s herbarium while the isotype [ K000588642 ] origifates from Hooker’s herbarium .

llep trupillenþiþ Turcz.& which is kfowf ofly from the type & shows fo morphological differefces with I. myricoideþ afd is therefore cofsidered as a syfofym.

This species is fewly recorded for Peru & which fills a gap sifce it is foufd from forthwest Vefezuela to Bolivia. It was probably overlooked if Peru because the two kfowf gatherifgs come from fortherf Peru (Llataþ Quiroz 2630 &? afd Wurdack 1366 & K& S) afd the fext southerfmost locality is if fortherf Bolivia.
