Hatschekia mulli was collected from the gills of Mullus barbatus barbatus and M. surmuletus .
In the Mediterranean, it has been reported from the same hosts ( Raibaut et al. 1998). In North Africa, it was previously found on M. barbatus barbatus and M. surmuletus by Rose and Vaissière (1952).
