Euseius neodossei Moraes, Ueckermann & Oliveira , n. sp. ( Fig. 22 )

DIAGNOSIS: This species differs from Euseius dossei (Pritchard & Baker 1962) by having shorter S2­S5 and Z5, and sharp­tipped macrosetae. It differs from Euseius orygmus (Ueckermann & Loots 1988) by having j1 shorter than j3 and ventrianal shield proportionally wider at level of ZV2; it differs from E. zambiensis n. sp. by having the peritreme and many of the dorsal shield setae shorter.

FEMALE (3 specimens).

Dorsum ­ Dorsal shield with few lateral striae anterolaterally to z5, 336(320­352) long, 243(240­246) wide, j1 31(29­34), j3 38(34­43), j4 9(8­10), j5 10, j6 11, J2 13, J5 7(6­ 8), z2 19(14­29), z4 34(26­43), z5 10(10­11), Z1 13(11­14), Z4 11(11­14), Z5 63(59­67), s4 56(54­58), S2 15(14­16), S4 18(14­19), S5 17(13­19), r3 16, R1 10(10­11). All dorsal setae smooth.

Peritreme ­ Reaching level between j3 and z2.

Venter ­ All ventral shields smooth. Distances between ST1­ST3 58(58­59), ST2­ST2 66(62­70) and ST5­ST5 71(67­75). With 2 pairs of metapodal shields. Ventrianal shield 103(102­104) long, 54(51­56) wide at ZV2 level and 70(67­74) wide at anus level.

Chelicera ­ Movable digit 26 long, with one tooth; fixed digit 27 long with 5 teeth

Spermatheca ­ Calyx short, 12(10­13) long, with sub­parallel walls, constricted near atrium, which is round and proeminent.

Legs ­ Macrosetae sharp­tipped: SgeII 24, SgeIII 29(26­29), StiIII 26(24­27), SgeIV 42(38­48), StiIV 36(34­38), StIV 57(46­67).

TYPE MATERIAL: Holotype female, Kisumu, Kenya, on Cassia sp., 2­XII­89, J.S. Yaninek; one paratype female, Brazzaville, Congo, on Coffea sp., 25­IX­90, O. Bonato; one paratype female, Burundi, on Gmelina sp., 16­VI­90, P. Ndayiragje, all deposited at ESALQ­USP, Piracicaba­SP, Brazi.
