Description. FEMALE (holotype and paratypes). Body length (dry specimens) 800–1000 µm. Body mostly dark brown except base of gaster yellow to light brown and hypopygium brown, occasionally dorsellum and borders of axilla and scutellum light brown; midlobe of mesoscutum with a lighter (light brown to brown) transverse submedian stripe. Scape and pedicel light brown, flagellum brown. Procoxa and most of

mesocoxa, all femora, and most of mesotibia and metatibia brown; mesocoxa distally, metacoxa, all trochanters, protibia, bases of mesotibia and metatibia, and most of tarsi light brown.

Vertex transversely striate, with a few short setae.

Antenna ( Fig. 13 View FIGURES 13, 14 ) with short setae. Scape about 6.0 x as long as wide; pedicel much longer than F1; all funicular segments longer than wide; F1 the shortest funicular segment, F2 longer than F1 and shorter than F3, F4–F6 subequal in length (F4 slightly shorter) and each a little longer than F3; F1 and F2 without longitudinal sensilla, F3 with 1, F4 with 1 or 2, F5 and F6 each with 2 longitudinal sensilla; clava about 3.0 x as long as wide, with 6 longitudinal sensilla.

Mesosoma. Each lobe of pronotum with several strong setae. Mesoscutum wider than long, its midlobe finely longitudinally striate and with 1 pair of strong setae. Axillar seta a little shorter than 1/3 length of scutellum. Scutellum about as long as mesoscutum, posterior scutellum finely longitudinally striate. Dorsellum broadly angulate posteriorly.

Wings. Forewing ( Fig. 14 View FIGURES 13, 14 ) 4.3–4.4 x as long as wide; blade slightly infumate behind venation and at apex but otherwise more or less hyaline, with setae only in the distal 3/10 and also partially along margins; longest marginal cilia 1.0–1.1 x greatest width of wing. Hind wing 15–17 x as long as wide, almost as long as forewing; blade slightly infumate distally; longest marginal cilia about 3.4 x greatest wing width.

Metasoma. Petiole about 2 x wider than long. Gaster longer than mesosoma; ovipositor with a large basal loop, about 9/10 length of gaster, a little exserted beyond apical gastral tergum (by about 1/9 of ovipositor length, but that somewhat variable), and 1.6–1.7 x length of metatibia.

Measurements of holotype (in µm). Mesosoma 424; gaster 521; ovipositor 470. Antenna: scape (including radicle) 182; pedicel 54; F1 25; F2 38; F3 58; F4 65; F5 67; F6 67; clava 152. Forewing 769:175; longest marginal cilia 182. Hind wing 756:45; longest marginal cilia 154.

MALE (paratypes). Body length 800–1000 µm. Similar to female except for the normal sexually dimorphic features such as antenna, genitalia, and the following. Dorsellum and borders of axilla and scutellum light brown, fore and middle legs lighter than in female. Flagellum 11–segmented, all flagellomeres a little longer than scape. Forewing 4.5–4.7 x as long as wide; longest marginal cilia 1.5–1.6 x greatest forewing width; blade more densely setose in distal half than in female. Gaster shorter than mesosoma.

Etymology. This species is named after Guillermo A. Logarzo who collected most of the specimens.

Diagnosis. Member of the clavatus species group. Erythmelus (E.) logarzoi is most similar to E. (E.) podaypodnos sp. n., both of which have longitudinal sensilla on F3–F6 of the female antenna. It differs from E. (E.) podaypodnos in having F1 notably shorter and narrower than F2 and the forewing blade hyaline in the middle.
