Distribution. Endemic. Galápagos: Española, Floreana, Isabela, Pinta, San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz, Santiago.

Remarks. McMullen (1986) reported that adults ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 14–17 ) of this species were very active on several flowers in the pampa zone of Santa Cruz. This species is considered a generalist pollinator, visiting a wide variety of plant species ( Boada 2005; Chamorro et al. 2012). A specimen was collected on the sea surface between islands ( Peck 1994b).
