Holotype male (a single specimen in original description, assumed as holotype, illustrated [clearly a male]; depository not given) in BMNH [in Jeannel, 1936].

Type locality: Volcán de Irazu, 6000 – 7000 ft., [Cartago Province], Costa Rica [Note: As from Mexico, in Jeannel, 1936: 147, in key, in error].

Distribution: Costa Rica: Alajuela, Cartago, Guanacaste, Heredia, Puntarenas, and San José Provinces; Panama: Chiriquí Province.
