HOLOTYPE: AMNH 671951 View Materials , adult male, collected at T’ai-pei (= Tai-Peh), 25.05N, 121.32E (Times Atlas ), Taiwan (= Formosa), on 6 April 1896, by collectors for Alan Owston. From the Rothschild Collection. GoogleMaps

COMMENTS: In the original description, Stuart Baker designated the male collected on 6 April 1896 by Owston’s collectors and in the Rothschild Collection as the type of harterti ; AMNH 671951 View Materials is the only specimen collected on that date. Stuart Baker did not enumerate his specimens but gave the range as ‘‘ Formosa. ’’ Owston specimens collected on Taiwan before the publication of the description would have been available to him.
