Cylindrostethus linearis (Erichson, 1848)

Geographical distribution: Guyana, Brazil, Peru, and Bolivia.

Distribution in Brazil: North Region (PA, AM, RO) ( Drake & Harris 1934; Kuitert 1942; Nieser 1970c).

Comments: Drake and Harris (1941) mentioned that the species would occur in RJ, but there is no evidence that its distribution would extend that much southward. The only species of the genus so far recorded from the Southeastern Region is C. palmaris Drake & Harris, 1930 , and the record of C. linearis from RJ is not considered valid here.
