Type locality and specimens. Neu-Kaledonien [ New Caledonia]. Mus. Paris .

Dimensions. Länge [length] 70 mm.

Type material. Syntype ( ZMH-A0000612 ). NEW CALEDONIA. No additional data [ca. 22°16’S, 166°27’E for Nouméa] .

Preservation. 1 jar: Label. Cupipes neocaledonicus Krpln ex typis Neukaledonien, Mus. Paris C. 2.IX.03 (Kraepelin handwriting).

Taxonomic remarks. Possibly a synonym of Cormocephalus impressus armatus (Daday, 1891) (L.E. Koch 1983: 801) ( Bonato et al. 2016) . Kraepelin mentiones several specimens in the description (“ jüngere Exemplare ”, “ älteres Exemplar ”) and additional syntypes are likely present at the MNHN.

Remarks. See Cormocephalus pustulatus Kraepelin 1903 . The specimen originates from the MNHN collections.

Current systematic position. Cormocephalus neocaledonicus ( Kraepelin, 1903) ; transferred by Attems (1930: 94).
