Commelinopsis glabrata D.R.Hunt, (1981: 195). Holotype. TRINIDAD. Irois Forest district, 25 January 1928, Broadway 6716 (K barcode K 000363259!).

Taxonomical notes.

Few collections of this variety are known for the Southeastern region of Brazil, with several specimens previously identified as C. rufipes var. glabrata actually representing the herein described C. huntii .
