Type material. Holotype: one isolated right propodus, complete and well preserved, lp 10.3 mm, from bioclastic sediment Santos beach, 23°59’01”S, 46°18’38”W, Bay of Santos, southeast Brazil, MZUSP 41102 View Materials GoogleMaps . Paratypes: one isolated right ischium, complete and cuticle well preserved, tl 10.5 mm; one isolated right carpus, margins incomplete and cuticle poorly preserved, tl 21.7 mm; two isolated left propodus, both incomplete, cuticle well preserved, lp: 10.0– 10.8 mm; four isolated left propodus, complete and well preserved, lp: 15.3–24.6 mm; one fragmentary left propodus articulated with dactylus, cuticle well preserved, lp 16.0 mm; one isolated right dactylus, complete and well preserved, tl 17.7 mm; all fragments from the same as holotype, MZUSP 41103 View Materials .

Diagnosis. Major cheliped of a presumed male; ischium with distinctive lateral carina; carpus unarmed; propodus with projection tuberculate below articulation with dactylus; dactylus slightly arcuate with tip curved downward, cutting edge consisting of large subrectangular tooth proximally, large acute tooth centrally and small blunt teeth distally.

Etymology. The species name ‘santensis’ is derived from the type locality, Santos in the coast of S„o Paulo state, where the type material was collected.
