Augochloropsis (Glyptochlora) ticuna sp. nov.

( Figs.1F View FIGURE 1 ; 2F, G View FIGURE 2 ; 3B, D View FIGURE 3 ; 4A View FIGURE 4 ; 8 View FIGURE 8 )

Diagnosis. This species is similar to A. peruviana sp. nov. by the coppery body coloration with red lower parocular area. This new species can be separated from all A. ( Glyptochlora ) by the propodeum with lateral expansion angulate, basal margin convex; T1 weakly flattened laterally and with dorso-lateral line strongly elevated.

Comments. Species known from a single female collected in western Amazonia, in the department of Amazonas ( Colombia).

Description. Holotype ♀. Measurements. Head width: 2.90; head length: 1.65; clypeus width: 1.55; clypeus length: 0.76; eye notch width: 0.66; supraclypeal length: 0.50; alveolo-ocellar distance: 0.69; intertegular distance: 2.24; T1 maximum width: 3.47; T2 maximum width: 3.40; body length: 9.72.

Color. Mandible brown. Lower parocular area red. Frons green, differing from the remainder coppery head in frontal view. Supraclypeal area red, apical third black. Clypeus mostly black, red on lateral surfaces. Genal area coppery. Scape and flagellum brown. Mesoscutum and metanotum mostly green with coppery reflections. Scutellum coppery. Tegula brown. Meso- and metepisternum mostly green with coppery reflections. Propodeum coppery; metapostnotum differing from the propodeum, golden. Fore wing with hyaline yellowish membrane; apical margin darker; pterostigma and venation brown. Hind wing with hyaline yellowish membrane; apical margin iridescent. Legs brown; tarsi brown; tibia with coppery reflections on external surface; hind tibial spur brown. T1–T4 bright coppery, laterally golden. Marginal zone coppery in T1–T4. Exposed dorsal surface of T5 and pseudopygidial area black. S1–S4 golden. S5 and S6 brown. Pubescence. Body mostly covered by pale yelowish pubescence. Mandible, dorsal margin with yellow bristles. Clypeus, apical margin with row of short (1–1.5 OD) yellow bristles, surface covered by shorter yellow setae, intermixed with dark setae. Supraclypeal area with dense, long, yellow setae; apical third with shorter scattered glabrous. Lower parocular area with short (1–1.5 OD), yellow setae. Frons with minute dark setae. Vertex with short (1–1.5 OD) dark setae, very conspicuous in occipital area. Postgena with long (1.5–2.5 OD), scarce, yellow setae. Scape with very short (≤1 OD) yellow setae in the basal region, shorter towards the distal region. Flagellomeres F1–F10 setose, with white sensilla. Pronotal lobe with dark setae. Mesoscutum with very short (≤1 OD), scarce, dark bristles. Scutellum covered by erect, short (1–1.5 OD), dark setae; intermixed with more erect, longer (2–3 OD) dark bristles. Metanotum covered by yellow tomentose setae, intermixed with erect, long (1.5–2 OD), yellow and dark setae. Mesepisternum with conspicuous yellow setae. Propodeum lateral surface covered by white tomentose setae, intermixed with longer (1.5 OD), yellow setae; posterior vertical surface with short (1–1.5 OD), erect, yellow setae; metapostnotum glabrous. Fore wing with very sparse and black microtrichia. Fore and mid leg: coxa, trochanter and femur with very long (2–3.5 OD), yellow setae, shorter setae (1–2 OD) on mid leg, internal margin glabrous; mesofemoral brush yellow; dark bristles on the external surface of tibia and tarsus, denser yellow bristles on inner surface. Hind leg: coxa and trochanter with short yellow setae; femur and tibia with long, plumose, yellow setae, forming a scopa; external margin of tibia with erect, long (1.5–2.5 OD) dark bristles; basitarsus with white bristles; both with denser yellow bristles on inner surface. T1, anterior margins with short (1.5 OD) yellow setae, laterally glabrous; dorsal surface with scattered, minute, white bristles. T2–T4 dorsal surface covered by scattered, minute, white bristles; laterally with a tuft of white setae. Marginal zone glabrous in T1–T4. Exposed surface of T5 and pseudopygidial area covered by dark bristles. S1 with long yellow setae medially. S2–S5 with long, dense, yellow setae, recurved apically. S6 with dark setae. Sculpture. Clypeus punctate, with open shallow very coarse punctures on basal and lateral margins, sparser medially; integument slightly microtessellate in between; foveate distally. Supraclypeal area with contiguous very coarse punctures; sparse coarse punctures in the in the apical third; integument smooth in between. Frons with contiguous very coarse punctures. Mesoscutum, scutellum and metanotum foveate. Propodeum with smooth integument on lateral angle, area adjacent to metapostnotum reticulate and with 1–3 scattered coarse punctures; posterior vertical surface with contiguously very coarse punctures. Metasoma with inconspicuous punctures; dorsal surface of T1–T3 with sparse fine punctures, integument smooth in between; close very coarse punctures on lateral surfaces in T1, gradulus not excavated on T2. Exposed dorsal surface of T4 with sparse shallow fine punctures; integument smooth in between. Marginal zone with close fine punctures in T1–T4, smooth stripe in the distal margin on T2–T4. S2–S5 with contiguous coarse punctures and substrigulate surfaces. Structure. Apex of clypeus not prolonged over apical border. Hypostomal ridge carinate, slightly projected onto a sheet anteriorly. Pronotum with dorsal ridge lamellate (<1 TW) and straight; dorso-lateral angle slightly notched, produced as an inconspicuous obtuse corner; lateral ridge weakly projected forward, without forming an acute tip; pronotal lobe strongly expanded. Propodeum with lateral expansions angulate, with the most basal margin convex and discontinuous with the margin of the distal region. Hind tibial spur pectinate, 7 teeth in the right and left spur; broadened at base. T1 with dorso-lateral line excavated and strongly elevated. Pygidial plate long, apex weakly emarginated medially.

Etymology. The name is a reference to the Ticuna, an indigenous population that inhabits the Amazonian Trapezium, an area corresponding to the extreme south from Colombia in the department of Amazonas, where Leticia is inserted. This a noun in apposition.

Distribution. The species is found in the Colombian department of Amazonas ( Fig. 9 View FIGURE 9 ).
