Diagnosis. Despite its similarity with Andrenosoma albibarbe and Andrenosoma bayardi , the characteristics of male terminalia led us to confirm it as a valid species.

Description. Medium size species (14 ̶ 17 mm), black and scarcely pilose. Head. Face, facial gibbosity and beard with white setae. Antennae with strong black setae. Thorax with black or white setae dorsally and long, strong, black, long setae laterally. Wings. First posterior cell open at wing margin ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 5 a). Abdomen. Tergites IV ̶VII are red medially. Black legs with white setae, most abundant on the coxae. Bright black male terminalia with gonostylus with a toothed blade on superior edge ( Fig. 5 View FIGURES 1 – 5 b). Variability. Some specimens with black and white setae on facial gibbosity.
